Title: Ball park figure to rewire a house Post by dodge on Nov 15th, 2004, 10:34am Hi Guys, Can you give me a ballpark figure as too how much it should cost me to hire a spark, to completely rewire a 1930's vacant mock tudor 3 bed semi detached house located in Surrey, with 2 receptions and a small kitchen. I would require a new CU and 4 double sockets in each reception room approx 15' x 12' and 6 double sockets in the kitchen approx 10' x 6'. Upstairs 4 Double sockets in the 2 large bedrooms and 2 for the box room. Bathroom will require power for a shower 9.5k Can you also advise approx how long it should take to complete. Thanks for your assistance Dodge |
Title: Re: Ball park figure to rewire a house Post by The_Trician on Nov 15th, 2004, 11:37am Ball-Park would be in the region of £2-3000 mate. This is Ball-Park though, but I'd be surprised if it cost you more than around £2500-2800. TT |
Title: Re: Ball park figure to rewire a house Post by Beanzy on Nov 15th, 2004, 3:23pm Chasing in cables? Surrey? You'd get £3 to £4K quotes to that, but if not chased then maybe £3K and less. Would need more info on the if and buts (fire alarms, heating controls, any data/TV/audio etc). |

Im in Wimbledon on the borders with Surrey Message me your number and i will come and have a look to give you a quote if you like As trician said it should cost between £2-3000 for what you have described, i take it you will just be having one lighting pendant in each room? |
Title: Re: Ball park figure to rewire a house Post by dodge on Nov 15th, 2004, 10:37pm Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies, I needed to get a rough idea what to expect to pay for a rewire, as I am waiting for probate to be granted for a house that needs a lot of work doing to it. I am most grateful for your replies and time. Regards Dodge |
Title: Re: Ball park figure to rewire a house Post by ban-all-sheds on Nov 15th, 2004, 10:56pm If the house is unoccupied, and has no furnishings you care about, then you are in a fortunate position - your sparky will be able to lift boards easily, and use power tools to do any chasing required - should speed things up a fair bit. |
