Title: Bathroom mixer tap.
Post by spongebob on Nov 15th, 2004, 11:06pm

Mother-in-law has booked my Xmas for me. Would like a new basin and W.C. installed. She has seen a Monobloc mixer that she likes that requires a min of 0.5 bar to operate. Is this likely given that there is only about six foot from the bottom of her loft mounted tank (Elson Type) and the tap outlet. Is there some kit available that can test pressure at tap outlet. All advice warmly received. 8)

I've got a kit it's got a 3/4" female nut that screw onto ouside tap or onto w/m valve.

Available at most plumbers merchant.

Don't think fitting a kit to the outside tap is going to tell me the hot water pressure......or maybe I'm missing something!! 8)

What you dont wash your car with hot water!!!? ;)

Try a tap made in UK. Bristan are pretty good I think a few of the taps have got 15mm supplies. Also plumbworld.com have some very reasonabley priced taps.

Put a w/m valve on the supply to your tap then put on the test guage.

Washing cars, next to painting and PAT testing, is yet another one of the most boring things you can do on a Sunday afternoon.

Rain's free!

Get a pressure washer to liven it up, before you know it the cars sparkling, the back fence has no green stuff on it, the path's light grey again, the cats soaking as are you and you cant hear the missus calling because of the noise! great stuff, earlier in a sunday morning the better.
