Title: Vibrating De Walt Bandsaw Post by ronti on Nov 17th, 2004, 8:33am I have recently purchased a De Walt DW 738 Bandsaw and it is suffering very badly with back to front vibration. I have it mounted on a very sturdy solid wood stand but cannot get rid of the vibration. Any ideas please? |
Title: Re: Vibrating De Walt Bandsaw Post by The_Trician on Nov 17th, 2004, 11:49am Yeah, send it back and buy a decent one. ;D No, seriously, it sounds as if something's out of line or twisted. If it were mine, I'd take it back, together with the board you've mounted it on, and demonstrate to the shop what the problem is. Ask em if you can swap it to try another. TT |

Title: Re: Vibrating De Walt Bandsaw Post by Dewy on Nov 17th, 2004, 8:00pm I believe the DeWalt bandsaw has an aluminium table which doesn't help the vibration. Bandsaws with a cast iron table suffer a lot less vibration than the aluminium tables. |
Title: Re: Vibrating De Walt Bandsaw Post by koolwabbit on Nov 20th, 2004, 2:08pm Ronti What do you mean by "wood stand" ? Mine came with a Steel Angle iron stand and that has to be levelled, the same as a washing machine to stop vibration. koolwabbit |
Title: Re: Vibrating De Walt Bandsaw Post by billythekid on Dec 4th, 2004, 3:50pm I used a handheld bandsaw once to cut metal purlings, that was some dangerous sh*t boy. Guy I was working with almost took off his hand with the same saw. Next day I brought the chop saw.. |
