Title: Cutting Speedfit/Hep2 pipe???
Post by nyck on Dec 11th, 2004, 5:20pm

What the best option for cutting the pipe.I've only need to  cut a few bit so didn't want to splash out £12-15 for the cutters.
The guy in the plumbers shop said just use cutting wheel as used for the copper pipe.

any advise welcome

I wouldn't use pipe slice (cutting wheel) as the rollers may damage the smooth face of the pipe.  This smooth face is essential to make a watertight seal with the O ring.

A new Stanley blade should be ok if you don't have sharp secateurs.  The cut needs to be pretty square but doesn't have to be perfect.

I bought the proper cutting tool for about £7 I seem to remember.

Might be worth checking ebay for something like a vinyl pipe cutter.

I tried the cutting wheel which worked OK(Make the tool is clean)
I then used a old pair of secateurs which were brillant
No leaks sor far

thanks for the Advise
