Title: Flexible cable size ... Post by Lee_Elms on Jan 7th, 2005, 9:28am What size flex do I need for connecting some woodworking machinery requiring 16A (round pin plug / socket, 16C MCB in consumer unit) ... (Is there a table somwhere with this information for flexible cable ? I can't find one !). Thanks ... |
Title: Re: Flexible cable size ... Post by dingbat on Jan 7th, 2005, 10:06am According to table 4H3A in the Wiring Regs, 1.5 mm² flex will carry 16A, but if you are installing it in flexible armour, or working in hot conditions you'll need to apply correction factors to de-rate it. Best bet is to use 2.5 mm²in the first place (rated at 25A without corrections). |
