Title: water treatment
Post by dickwoodward on Jan 10th, 2005, 11:08am

I have just had a new combi boiler fitted and want it to last as long as possible. Can anyone recommend a suitable water treatment system for use with a combi boiler?

The Boiler instructions etc should mention an acceptable brand of inhibitor - check this first to make sure you don't undermine your warranty by putting the wrong stuff in.

As a rule of thumb, something like Sentinal X100 should do the trick.

turn it off and do not use it,it will last longer that way.what side are you looking to protect heating or hot water,is it a hard water area?if so you could fit a salamander scale master directly under the boiler on the incomming main.for the heating side put sentinel in the system once it has been flushed out in accordance with the mi.the only real way to protect the hw side would be to fit a water softener not really practical unless the water is really hard hope this may help :)
