Title: Pull switch Post by JohnDavies on Feb 1st, 2005, 11:24am My rewire is just about there. Halleluiah....... A simple query (for once). And nothing about neon screwdrivers.............. I have wired two way switches before but not bedroom pull switches I have only ever seen them wired on a radial basis, carrying the feed (neutral included) through the wall switch, and then through the pull switch to the rose. Is it better these days to run a feed to all roses and then 4 core between switches, and a switching wire to the rose? I would have thought so but would like it from the horses mouth. Also There is powdered rockwool in the loft. Do I need to excavate it around all cables so that they don't overheat, especially as the loft will eventually be boarded? Thanks JohnD |
Title: Re: Pull switch Post by JohnDavies on Feb 1st, 2005, 5:48pm Thanks - very helpful. So it's standard 2 -way wiring then. Sorry - when I said four core, I meant three and earth (I was thinking of four wires) Circuit will be 6 amp MCB protected, wired in 1.5mm cable. Supply cable length is about 20 - 25 metres. Title: Re: Pull switch Post by JohnDavies on Feb 1st, 2005, 11:30pm I wall switch, I pull switch (as it happens in each of two bedrooms). Sorry - thought my meaning was clear from my first post. JohnD. |
