Bit of a 'cock-up' with fitting a sink into a worktop.

Due to the new plumbing being too far from wall the sink has been positioned close to front of worktop, with the result that I cannot attached the sink clips! :(

The base units stop me from getting the clips to grip under the worktop.

My question is: IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO FIX THE SINK TO THE WORKTOP OR IS THE SEALANT ENOUGH?

The sink fits pretty tight with no movement at the moment, without any fixings in place.

Would Gripfill or No Nails fix do the job, followed by the silicone sealant?

Sorry I'm not being very clear.

Kitchen virtually finished apart from tiling the walls. The worktops have been mitred and fixed.

The sink is plumbed in and slotted into hole in worktop. But due to incorrect positioning of plumbing the sink does not fit centrally in the base units (2 x 600mm).

This means I cannot get my clips under the worktop without first chiselling out the base units.

The sink bowl is on the lefthand side which is tight to the left hand base unit which means it's virtually impossible to fit clips.

I just wondered if there was an alternative to the 'normal' clips. Can you just glue the sink into place?

aaa think ive got you now you where extremely clear ;D ;D ;D just me being thick ;)
so your sink is too close to the verticle edges

do the clips screw on to the sink or do they clip in a channel ??? ???

Stuarto it's not exactly ideal but I have just had to do something similar fitting a sink into a 400mm base unit ::)

It is best to get as many clips to fit as you can, sometimes it is possible to cut a small rebate in the cabinet. Then if you are going to seal it in place use something like Silkaflex-EBT it sticks like the proverbial but more so, then there is no need to use silicon. This stuff is much better than Gripfill or silicon but is more expensive.

I put a good bed of the sealant round the edge of the sink fitted it in position and put a few clamps on to help keep it tight then left it overnight to cure.

Use silicone sanitary sealer under the sink edges and wedge a peice of 3x2 from ceiling to anothe peice of timber across the sink, remove excess mastic,leave overnight and hey presto one fixed sink.

Stuarto, I get it from the local builders merchant, I don't know if the sheds sell it, it's a 100 mile trip for me to go to the nearest BnQ Warehouse!

Silkaflex would be my first choice but as PVM says silicon will fix it down OK.
