Title: Fixing stud wall to concrete floor Post by stressedout on Aug 5th, 2005, 1:58pm Hi. I have to build a stud wall in a kitchen. The floor is concrete and the walls are breeze-block. Eventually the new wall willl carry a couple of smallish kitchen cupboards and a cooker hood. I have been told I could fix the sole-plate (3" x 2") to the floor either will expansion bolts or with 4" nails using a cartridge hammer. (I guess I could also fix the end studs to the breeze-block?) Which method should I go for do you think? |

Place the fixings at 300mm cts and you should not go wrong. Also make sure the upright studs are a tight fit between the sole and head plates. Jason |
