Title: Formica worktop refurb? Post by Flashbang on Aug 9th, 2006, 2:14pm Hi all Not sure which forum this question should be in? ... :-/ Existing kitchen worktops are in good condition without any chips or otehr damage and are the cupboards below and above are all ok. Kitchen is about 8 years old now. Problem is the previous house owner to us has used a powder type scourer cleaner (Vim or Ajax powder types) on the worktops and this has removed any anti staining protection from the surface. What happens now is that the slightest spill will leave a stain on the surface which can only be removed with either neat bleach or using a power type scourer! Question is ... Is there any commercially available resurfacing treatments that I can use to reseal the worktops?? |

Post by big_all on Aug 9th, 2006, 5:44pm dont think theres anything that will give you a satisfactory "repair" especialy as it likly to be the high use areas that have been scoured any thing you put on [like varnish sorry wolf ;D]is only going to be a temporary fix and is unlikly to look neat and clean this of course is only my opinion and i could be wrong ::) ::) ;) would move to carpentry but someones nicked my mods buttons ;D ;D ;D ;) |
