Some time ago I asked about building a washstand and I think someone here recommended using Wedi board. I've just finished it and it's ready for the tiles. First time I've used Wedi board and it was dead easy to use. Cut it with a knife and a hacksaw blade. Used a wood file to remove small bits off edges. Glued it with Forget Nails or similar. The wood (perhaps unnecessary) is local reinforcement for a shelf, hinges for some glass doors and towel rail mounting.

Mug stands on the small stone coaster with the toothbrush inside ;) soap on a rope round the spout ;D
