Yup - that's a very typical Chubs posting as well, mind its missing the smilies.

How about -

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Seems quite an apt quotation following Chubbs's attempt.

And todays' quiz is - who is being quoted above?

And another famous quotation for you -

"Every improvement in communication makes the bore more terrible."  ;)

Who said that then?

And ...

"I wish people who have trouble communicating would just shut up."

Who said then?

And whilst yopu are looking up that lot Chubbs - who said this -

"Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people."

One of my faves - especially when it comes to Public Sector wankers.

"Give me a Committee of one, and I'll get things done".

W.S.Churchill

OR -

"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals."

W.S. Churchill

And finally,

one for the twaaats who rushed in Part P, despite there being no real need for it -

"Let the evidence guide the research. Do not have a preconceived agenda which will only distort the result."
-Barbara Tuchman

Hear, hear to that Wolfie. Never mind we will soon be losing one plonker PM only to be replaced by another plonker PM only this time I bet he has a Scottish accent - ya know THOSE people that demanded devolved Government for Scotland  :-?

Now Churchill was a clever bloke indeed. Not only was he a good brick layer but also a great orator. He was once asked how long does it take him  to write a speech (as they did in those days; they did not have a few hundred spin doctors doing it for them) to which he replied -

Well if I am to talk for an hour I am ready now. If you want me to talk for half an hour then it takes me about 10 minutes. On the other hand if you want me to talk for just 5 minutes it takes me about a month.

Here's a few

"I told them I was ill" Spike Milligan

"You can keep quiet & let everyone think you're a fool or you can speak and confirm their thoughts" Anon

MP to Churchill "Sir you're drunk!"
Reply " Yes madam and you're ugly but in the morning I will be sober"

Churchill again

Lady Astor (I think) " If you were my husband I'd poison you"
Churchill "Madam if you were my wife I'd drink it"

And finally

The management recognise there is a communication problem within the company but are not prepared to dicuss it.
