Title: Butting Aquapanel - sealant or tile adhesive Post by dpasty on Aug 31st, 2007, 8:50pm Am just about to start fixing aquapanel to studs, have found differing advice - use silicon sealant on joints then fix to wall. Option 2, butt panels together & fix to wall, then apply tile adhesive plus tape prior to tiling. Any thoughts / experience ???? Many thanks in anticipation :) |

Have seen that sealant can be used to between boards when fitting to studs however looking at the knauf website they advise tape & tile adhesive, just wondering if anybody has thoughts / experience ??? |
Title: Re: Butting Aquapanel - sealant or tile adhesive Post by jasonB on Sep 3rd, 2007, 7:46am If you are not going to tank the shower cubicle then tape with Aquapanel tape and then use powdered tile adhesive over the joints and to fill screw holes. Personally I tank as well, this requires a thin skim of tile adhesive over all the board then use tanking tape on the joints and internal corners as part of the tanking system. Jason |
