Title: Stupid waste question I can't find an answer to Post by bevo on Nov 6th, 2007, 8:37pm I am going to install my shower tray. Does a low profile waste also act as a trap to stop bad smells coming back from the drains? Looking at the shape of a low profile waste I can't understand how a barrier is made to stop bad smells as with a P-shaped waste pipe. Sorry if this is a stupid question but some of the low profile wastes state they are a waste and some say trap. Are they all the same thing and do they act as a waste and a trap. Thanks, Bevo |

Title: Re: Stupid waste question I can't find an answer t Post by CWatters on Nov 15th, 2007, 10:54am Yes it's not obvious unless you take one apart. The nice thing about some of these is they can be fitted as well as serviced from above - meaning no need for a plinth. Our tray is flat on the floor and achieves much the same feel as a wet room would with less complication. These 40 mm high trays would also be good with no plinth... http://www.jt40.info/jt40.html |
Title: Re: Stupid waste question I can't find an answer t Post by bevo on Nov 15th, 2007, 6:15pm Hello, I will get a waste that I can service from above. The tray is raised as the waste is above the floor level. I bought a just trays merlin tray as I needed an 800 x 900 size and they seem to have a good reputation. It should be here on Monday!!! Thanks for all the advice. Bevo |
