Title: Floor covering
Post by juco on Jan 6th, 2008, 6:46pm

I require to cover a floor and have chosen to do this in linoleum, the floor is normal 6x1/2 or maybe 3/4 inch wood so not chipboard.
Is it ok to lay the lino direct onto the wooden floor.? Or will the strips of wood eventually show through?

thanks

heeeelllooo juco and welcome ;D ;D ;D

assuming the floor is fairly flat drag a hammer head accross the floor remove any tacks or staples it finds knock in any nails that are proud of the surface secure any loose planks

cover with hardboard pin  in a grid every 6 inches or so making sure if you have a join its on the same board to tie the ends/sides together

Thanks big-all,  That seems easy enough.

......and wet the hardboard on the mesh side & allow to soak a long while first to allow it to expand. New hardboard is very dry.
