Title: Odd Size Doors
Post by Lectrician on Jan 10th, 2010, 7:06pm

I have been changing the internal doors in my house, and have two left.

I have been fitting the pre-finished Wickes 'Regency' 6 panel doors.

The ones left are odd sizes.  They are 530mm wide x 1980mm tall and 530mm wide x 1685mm tall.

Any ideas where I may source a close match?

I need an back door that is 1881 x 762mm, not having much luck  :-/

533mm is a 'standard', if not readily available size apparently.  The height of the shorter door is not standard and I would have to cut a door down, assuming the cut comes between the top panels.  I would have to infill the cut with some wood as obviously the doors are hollow and only made up with a 20mm frame.

I guess infilling is just a matter of cutting, removing the egg-crate material to a 20mm depth and inserting a new piece of machined timber with some PVA and clamping it up.

Yep, at least 20mm, I'd normally fit something a little deeper.
