Title: Loading MS Office Post by cumbriahandyman on Dec 1st, 2010, 11:51am The wife has a notebook, no CD drive. I want to load MS Word and Excel onto it. Can I do it using a memory stick? If so what is the procedure? Cheers |
Title: Re: Loading MS Office Post by Lectrician on Dec 1st, 2010, 5:17pm You can, just copy the entire contents of the CD onto the memory stick and execute the setup file. You could also put the contents of the CD into a directory on your desktop PC, and assuming you have both machines networked, copy the directory from the PC to the notebook, and then execute the setup. |

Get an external hard drive or network it to another PC. I favour making a drive image backup incase there are hardware specific drivers (trackpad or battery monitor?) that are hard to find if you need to re-install everything eg following a hard drive failure. |
