i have just had a load of damask wallpaper arrive that i bought online and it turns out is is very heavy/thick. i had found what looked like a good wallpaper paste recipe but i now don't know if i should change quantities etc cos the paper is very heavy. anyone got much expericence with thick wallpaper?

I wouldn't waste time making your own paste. If you've never papered before go buy some and follow the instructions on the packet Mix it up and allow it to stand for awhile. It will eventually turn from a paste into an almost clear gel. Some makes are ready before you've had a cup of tea, others improve if left overnight. Keep the bucket covered with a wet/damp cloth when not in use. You can store it like that for quite a long time.
