Title: Earthing back boxes

I've allways earthed galvanised metal back boxes but is this still necessary with face plates that have earthed screw holes?

To comply with the regs, aslong as the back box has ONE fixed lug (not two adjustables) then you do not need to use an earth fly lead.  Considered standard practice to do so though.

However.

With surface mounted kit the the socket back box becomes an exposed conductive part and requires earthing - replying on the securing screws is not enough.

Thanks for that.
