Could use some DIY help here... Can you lay laminate flooring straight on top of floorboards?

no you must lay them at right angles to the flooring and with underlay to avoid the thunder to the room underneath ad protect the laminate

Cheers big_all! May have sounded ridiculous but was wondering what the problems would be if I layed on top of floor boards.

laminate floors are loud more so without underlay
if you live in rented or in a flat sometimes you are banned from having laminate because off the noise
