Title: Versatility - ISDN module
Post by gurk on Sep 19th, 2013, 1:06pm

Another versatility question from me.

Got a system with two ISDN cards installed in the CCU - working fine, 4 lines available. Installed a ports module - all extensions working fine, but when I add ISDN card to this module I can't seem to get the new lines to be recognised - get a tone and busy message on handset when dialling out.

ISDN2e going directly into T0 on the ports module - the light stays amber flashing on the 2e, but if plugged into the CCU it goes green.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dip switches is correct positions - copy the working trunks on the main CCU.

Have you "equipped" the lines in programming, and assigned them?

Plugged your RJ45 into the correct TO port on the ports module?

Thanks for the response.

Dip switches are same as CCU, lines are equipped and assigned to the main group. RJ45 going into T01 which is the slot the ISDN card is in.

Try putting the new ADSL line into one of the other TO ports to see if that works.

Just getting back to this.

Thanks, new ISDN line works fine when connected to the CCU, it just doesn't seem to want to work with the ports module.

And there is a red ISDN cartridge installed in the ports expansion module?

The expansion module is correctly seated to the back plane? I have seen several incorrectly fitted to the back plane, causing extensions to fail on the ports module.

Yes, there's a red ISDN cartridge installed, and expansion is correctly seated - originally had a problem with that but now all extensions are working.

The main problem is that the 2 new ISDN channels just say busy when you try to dial out on them.

Thanks.

And you have swapped the red cartridges and rebooted?  Prove the cartridge is not faulty?  Red module in the correct slot on the ports module?

How about trying To2 in the expansion module?  With the red module moved over, and then equipping lives 7/8 instead?  See if that works?  Proves a fauly interface.

Red cartridge works fine on CCU... Definitely using correct slot on ports module.

Tried ports module T02 with appropriate lines equipped, still no joy. Does this suggest a fault with the ports module ISDN interface?

Thanks.

Certainly sounds like it.
