Title: Halstead Ace HE30 Boiler - Any Good?
Post by jazzyman on May 11th, 2014, 11:56pm

My daughter moved into a new property last year and is finding that the heating costs are very expensive.  The property is fitted with a Halstead Ace HE30 gas boiler, are these boiler's efficient or any good? Would there be much advantage in changing the boiler to  a more modern one too lower running costs?

To answer the first question No, don't think they are still in existence now.

My first choice would be Intergas, but like most boilers you need an approved installer.

Ask an RGI and they'll all come up with a different boiler.

Vaillant are ok.
WB are ok.
Ideal logic is ok.
Potterton gold is ok.

Whatever don't always look at the boiler, it could be lots of other reasons, insulation, life style, or even their energy supplier.

Thanks for the reply.

So how much less efficient is a Halstead boiler compared to a modern combi condensing type boiler?

Not enough to change it untill it breaks down or your doing other works.

Reliability is you biggest issue, and you could get lucky
