Title: Dimplex Panel Heater Install Post by Tristan on Oct 6th, 2014, 1:27pm Hi, I have a Dimplex Panel Heater model LPP150 and was hoping that I could connect it up to a double wall socket I have in close proximity. I of course plan to change the current double sockets to something more suitable. The installation instructions state the following: "A means of disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed wiring of the premises in accordance with the wiring rules. The supply circuit to the heater must incorporate a double pole isolating switch having separation of at least 3mm." PDF manual download: I assume connection to something the MK K5423WHWHI would meet the requirement? If so, what would I be able to use for a double wallsocket box? As none have an isolation switch with cable outlet and a wallsocket? Could one simply file a cable outlet from something like the MK 5061, a wallsocket with isolation switch for cooker etc? I am not planning on using the control wire and expect to insulate it and mark accordingly. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Links removed thescruff |
Title: Re: Dimplex Panel Heater Install Post by Lectrician on Oct 6th, 2014, 4:39pm Can't you put a standard switched fused connection unit adjacent the socket (MK or similar)? Failing that, use MK grid with a fuse module, DP switch and flex outlet in a three module yoke/front plate. I think Scruff removed your link as linked to an interactive catalogue which upsets some people's computers. |
