hello,

if anyone can help on this id really appreciate it.

over the past month therw is a noise coming fron our loft-its like a bird chirping which happens cobstantly every 30 seconds and doesnt stop-its just really annoying when im trying to sleep.

ive been up in the loft and there are no animals-u think its coming from the water tank in the loft. its been up there years with no problems before.

any help would be great for my sleep.

Could be the water tank fill valve.

Perhaps you have a leaking tap or flush valve washer in a WC cistern? eg Something is loosing enough water to cause the float valve in the loft tank to open every 30 seconds and top up the level in the tank.

Ideally go up in the loft and look and listen to the tank. Perhaps lift up the float by hand to see if it stops. If it does then you need to find out where the water is going.

Have a look around the fascias etc for and signs of a birds entry/nest.

Have you actually checked the tanks inside and the lagging.

Don't know of any plumbing issues that make that sound

It's sounds like an ultrasonic mouse bothered that has gone a bit faulty. We had one do exactly the same thing. Do you know if there is power up there? You could always turn the power off at the consumer unit and see if it stops.

that was my first thought
