Am in the process of upgrading a shower and have removed the pipe to shower valve, as these were not the standard 150mm apart, as most new types are.
But while doing this a very large piece of the wall render came away with them. This render was in sand/cement and about 12mm thick, with a plaster skim coat.
I have fitted the new pipes in the thermolite wall, but am unsure what to do with the wall, should I:
1) re-render in sand/cement?
2)use Bonding or Browning plaster
3)cut out and fit plasterboard? if so how do I fit this, baring in mind its in a shower.
As this is for one of the kids there is not much money left to get a plaster in, so helpful advise urgently needed please.

Bonding or browning is easy to use, just drag it with a straight edge and tile when dry.

Thanks for info, that does seem the easiest way to go, just one thing, would I have to put a finish coat on this or can I tile straight onto the Bonding coat?

Think you can tile straight on top but best to ask or check the adhesive first.

Dont forget to wrap the pipes with something like denso tape first
