Title: Screed on timber floor Post by BobS54 on Jan 20th, 2016, 10:34am Hi Has anyone experience of putting a floating screed on a timber floor? Im looking to install underfloor heating on a timber floor, and want to raise the level and have the thermal mass of the screed to hold the heat. I have timbers175x50 @400 ctrs, and propose 70mm insulation between them, and a separating mmembrane before 75mm screed and tile or wood flooring. How do you verify the victorian timbers can take the load and wont deflect and crack the screed? Thanks Bob |

We have a mixture of screed and foiled insulation (aka heat spreader plates) in our house. Both work equally well although the screed takes longer to heat up - perhaps a disadvantage if you are both out at work most days. |
