Title: Portable appliance testing Post by Natedog on Feb 14th, 2019, 12:21pm A random question maybe, but does PAT testing apply to things that aren't mains powered? I'm currently looking at buying assorted bits of PA gear. Signal processors are often powered by a wall wart power supply. Last time I had to get band gear tested, the power supply would get tested and have a sticker put on it and the actual device didn't as its only 9v. That was 10+ years ago though, and I get that rules change now and then. But I'm seeing passive speakers, microphones and even mic stands being advertised as "just been pat tested" Am I going mad, or are they? ;D |
