....unless it's in the shower, then you will need to tank it first.

You can tile straight onto plasterboard.

thank u for your answer. one of my walls is plasterboard . if i take the paper off is there anything i need to do to the wall before i tile

In a word, no.  Not worth the risk as your tiles would be stuck to the paper, not the wall.

tiling over wallpaper

i want to tile my bathroom and toilet. the toilet has lining paper on the walls can i tile over it.
