110mm underground drainage
Sep 1st, 2010, 11:28pm

Hi, I need to run some 110mm drain pipe under my drive to drop some guttering into. Due to the slope of the area the pipe isn't going to be much more that 400mm below the surface in part.
My question is should I lay it in pea gravel or something else. I was maybe thinking concrete to give it plenty of support and stop it falling in or sinking as cars/vans etc go over it. PS if it makes any difference it's not part of a sewege system but hooks into an existing pipe (from the back of the house) that runs off down the garden into a ditch.

Many thanks Bob

I think 400mm is ok for clay pipe but not plastic. See "Gradient and cover"..
