Floor tiles
May 16th, 2005, 12:12am

I have never ever done any tiling, but now my luck has changed. Unfortunately.

I have a bathrooom to tile.  The floor is 3/4" T & G on joists with 15" centres.

Two questions.

Is it best to line it with plywood before fitting floor tiles?

Also, which do I do first - tile the walls or the floor?  Floor, I presume, but I wait to be proved wrong!

Thanks

Screw a minimum of 9mm WBP ply to the boards.

Use a flexible adhesive, powdered ones are best as they dry in a few hours, the pre-mixed need a few DAYS!
Use flexible adhesive or an additive to standard floor tile adhesive.

I do the walls first, saves making a mess of the tiles

A thought - I have a sheet of exterior ply, will this do?

Thanks
