It is not really a good idea to ask on forums if it is a good price or not, we cannot see the job so cannot really say how much it should cost, try getting three separate quotes and take the one you feel most happy with, this does not have to be the cheapest, it could be the middle or the dearest, it can depend how you find the proffessionalism of the installer.

to save money i thought i might run the gas pipe from near the gas fire to the T piece where he will join it and then get the gas man to connect that will save me dosh its easy doing the pipework as its 15mm innit ? not like the old way using barrel

You are not qualified to run gas pipe, whether you think it is easy or not.

I agree plumber but the way i read it was that poshman was just going to lay a continuous length of pipe. I.e. no joins! and let a pro connect up.
I'm prepared to be corrected Grin.

all 10m of it  Wink

point to consider is the size required and whether the reat of the gas supply needs to be upsized to say 28mm.

I like speedfit better for gas runs, the white pipe looks better, but dont get too near the fire as it tends to go shiny and bendy  Roll Eyes
