Flexible tap hose
Oct 5th, 2006, 10:28pm

Back again .
I,ve just taken delivery of a basin tap from screwfix made by Hansgrohe (Avista Basin Mixer), and very nice it looks too.
My question is how do I remove the flexible pipes. They will not unscrew but they do revolve. I am afraid to pull too hard for obvious reasons. My reason for removing is that they come with 3/8" male fittings and I would prefer to attach a 15mm push fit again to make life easier.

By the way thanks for all previous advice. I will finish this project one day, hopefully before I peg out.

Google found this (pdf) but I'm not sure if it helps much. It doesn't show a screw thread...

Easiest option is to use the Hansgrohe isolating valves which are made to take the hoses, they look nice too Smiley

The little "T" shaped bit just to the southwest of the number "9" is what retains the hoses, you need to disassemble the tap to withdraw it I think unless there is a slot that you can spring it back from underneath.
