Baxi Combi 105e Diverter Valve
Oct 12th, 2006, 6:18pm

Hi there,

my combi boiler is leaking and I've had a Corgi chap out to look at it and he quotes me £400 for replacing the Diverter Valve which is corroded. I'm trying to find the part number so I can work out if he's trying to rip me off or not. Maybe I've seen too many programmes about single women being ripped off by unscrupulous people. If I can find the part number I'm going to find out the cost price and see how much a Corgi chap will charge for fitting alone. Any help will be really appreciated!

Google suggests the whole boiler only costs around £500 (£590ish inc vat)...

http://www.heatandplumb.com/acatalog/Baxi_105e_Gas_Boiler.html

The diverter valve on it's own looks like around £50-£70 according to...

http://www.uk-plumbing.com/dept2.asp?dept%5Fname=Baxi+Diverter+Valves

but I don't know if you need the body as well (another £50). Might be cheaper elsewhere as this was just the first site I found.

I've no idea how hard it is to replace but the quote you had does sound expensive.

Before you can begin you need the Model No (GC No from the plate)

Starts off 47.075. ??

Unfortunately the bits highlighted by CW are probably not the ones you want.

would think closer to £100 parts and approx £120 labour but all dependant on area, parking and how frigging difficult old div valve is to remove Grin

Thanks all for your advice. I got hold of Baxi in the end and they told me the part number. Part cost £120 and the Corgi man fitted it for £90. Cheers all.
