electric shower fitting problems

i have currently an old mira m8.2 electric shower about 20 years old.
its finally started leaking and is too old to be repaired.
i have purchased another mira as recommended by a plumber. however the old shower was right water entry, and the new one is left hand-top bottom or back.
can the pipework be modified to fit the new shower?
is this something that plumbers would normally have to do?

Not quite sure what you are asking. Yes most plumbers would be able to modify the pipe layout. How pretty does it need to be? It might be possible to do it all with exposed pipe or perhaps you want it hidden in the wall? If so it will cost more.
Are the tiles still available? Ask the plumber if he can bury the pipe in the wall and repair the tiles? He might only want to do the pipe works and leave you to find someone to fit the tiles.
The main safety issue is with the electrics. Best get someone qualified to do that.

More info needed:
is it a stud wall or a block wall?
is there an airing cupboard or similar directly behind?
Is there a loft above the room with the shower?

The easiest option would be to buy a new unit with cable & pipe entries on the same sides - the extra cost of a new unit would be less than the extra labour of a plumber and re-tiling. Mira (as you mentioned) and Triton are the best makes.

One of the benifits of burying everthing out of sight and covering them with really expensive tiles.
Big hammer and chisel and start smacking a big hole
