Baxi 105e Instant - no C/H
Nov 30th, 2006, 11:57am

Hi guys

I've got a problem with our Baxi 105e Instant boiler at the moment - was hoping for some help  Smiley

The boiler was functioning fine until yesterday when the following happened :

It works fine for DHW - drawing from the 'instant' tank, then firing up to either continue the hot water flow, or to replenish the tank. However, whereas (I believe) the pump should then run for another 30 seconds or so and then stop......it doesn't stop, and the indicator light for the DHW on the front panel stays on. From what I've read, because the demand for DHW takes precedence over the C/H, this is presumably why it won't let the C/H kick in

I've tried a reset, but as soon as the boiler restarts, the DHW indicator light comes on, the pump et al starts up and we're back where we started

No fault neons are lit at all

I've got a local engineer coming tomorrow morning first thing, but bearing in mind that he charges an hourly rate before the cost of any parts - I thought it might be handy to know if this is a common problem, and therefore where he could start investigating  Smiley

Thanks in advance

As I said elsewhere I know little about the bean cans (rubbish) but start with the divertor valve, flow switch etc.

Any dripping taps will stop the heating working

All resolved (hopefully)

Mucky 'stat on the hot water side of things caused the pump to continue to run

Cleaned 'stat (although not that bad apparently) and all seems well again

£40 labour charges only..........when I spoke to Baxi, they wanted a flat fee of £269 including any parts for one of their own engineers to visit

Worse scenario - if it goes again - new 'stat for a few quid and a few minutes fitting time

Nice and warm again now - hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem
