My boiler won't fire up when hot taps turned on
Apr 12th, 2007, 12:00pm

I have a potterton combi boiler installed from new 3 yrs ago. Recently I turn on the hot water upstairs in the bathroom and the boiler doesnt fire up. I have to now go downstairs and turn on the hot water tap right next to the boiler in order for it to fire up. It hasn't lost pressure, its idiling at 1 bar and has been since it's installation. Any ideas please?

Should've realised that this would happen... Now this morning the boiler is not firing up at all when any hot taps are turned on, thus no hot water.

It is a Potterton performa 28 combi with 2bar pressure coming in from mains and the boiler idiles at 1 bar. It's been fine for 3 years. Any clues - thanks
