If you install renewables as part of your business, you may be aware of the new scheme coming in for grants, UK Microgeneration Certification Scheme, they intend to charge installers £1,800.00 to join the scheme, I am disgusted by this suggested charge there is a petition started at the Governments petitions web site, if this will effect your business please sign the petition http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Renewables/?ref=renewables

Kent, can you explain a bit more about what the government is trying to rip us off about? Maybe its me but renewables could cover a lot of ground, I would be quite willing to sign the petition if I had a bit more info. Regards Jimbo

The Government intend to charge installers £1800 per technology to be part of the new UK Microgeneration Certification scheme, you will have to be part of this scheme if you want to offer your customers the grants from the Government for solar, GSHP, Biomass etc, there is no layered payments, sole traders will pay the same as large companies, this I feel is very unfair and will force a lot of small traders to turn away from renewables, which will damage the industry.
