Combi - Hot Water Updated

To get the boiler (Halstead Ace) to fire when calling for hot water I now need to turn the tap 3/4 on at least. Previously (up to a week ago) I only needed to give it a 1/4 turn. Performance when heating appears OK.
Before I get a man in can anyone tell me what is likely to be the cause?
Thanks

Could be an input filter blocked or the flow sensor.

The engineer say that the diaphragm needs replacing or a service kit. Problem is he is still waiting for the parts to arrive and the water heating problem is getting worse.
Guess I have no choice to to wait for them to come through. Is there a(safe) work around in the meantime?
