Is it just me?

Laser printers toner does cost more than an inkjet cartridge, but you get so many more prints, and of far superior and lasting quality.....

When you go on ebay and look for cheap true manufacturer toners (I hate re-filled or re-manufactuered), you always see the listings for "chips" to allow you to carry on using 'empty toners'.

I guess the manufacturers do under estimate the level of toner ina drum near the end, but I expect this is purely because they do not want you to complain if the print quality just 'stops'.

When advertising these 'chips', they always go on about 'greedy manufacturers', 'trying to make you change your toner early'.

Surely, if the manufacturer was wanting to save or make money, they would simply include a lower amount of toner?  The cost is balanced.  They do not want you to change your cartridge and bin toner they have paid for, just to buy another.  It's simply a waste, and toner going into the skip that you and the manufacturer could save money on.

So.

If you have a laser printer, expect toner to cost more, but expect a superior and lasting print Wink

I always thought the main reason for those resetters was to help those who refill thier toner carts.

I keep seeing ebay listings saying "Get the most from your toner carts" and "dont through un-used toner away" etc.

Seems like too much hastle!

I am happy changing the toners during the year....and it is year, not month (as it usually is with inkjet).

I have found lasers tobe very economical compared to inkjets.
