Exterior double socket with 4 core wiring
Aug 17th, 2009, 11:07am

Hi

I have a 4 core cable running from its own CU from garage to shed at end of garden.  I have bought a weatherproof double socket but not sure how to wire it with 4 wires.  Live, Neutral, Earth and a 'black one'.  Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Before you do this you need to find out what type and size the cable is
Also how long the run is
You need to find out how the cable is protected electrically and if
its connected up properly (picture of Consumer unit, RCD would help)
Also how is the garage CU fed?

What colours are in the cable? Brown, blue, grey, black?
