1st. Floor hot water is cold?
Jan 21st, 2010, 9:42am

Hi all.
I have a Potterton Performer 28 Combi boiler fitted in the kitchen. Over the past week i (and the missus!) have noticed a gradual drop in temperature of the upstairs hot tap water. It's now at the point of being luke warm. All radiators and other taps are fine throughout the house! Any ideas?? Huh

Could the pressure be higher, try opening the tap less than usual.

Are they mixer taps that are maybe stopping the hot.

Faulty shower mixer? eg letting cold through to the hot pipe and around to the tap?

Thanx for the reply folks!
My water pressure is sitting at a constant 2.0 Bar when the heating is on. Is this ok?
I do have mixer taps fitted to the bath and h/w basin. But is it likely that both of these would pick up a fault at the same time? and can you service them?

I also have a mains fed mixer shower. I've isolated the cold supply this morning to the shower and turned the lever to full hot and it's still luke warm with just a moments rise in temp before settling back down to cold(ish) Huh

The gauge on the boiler is system pressure and not the mains pressure, and 2bar when hot is ok.

Try turn the cold to the bath off and running the hot, at the same time measure the flow rate into a bucket, it should be 10-12Ltrs/m

When you turn on the problem tap does the combi fire up normally or do anything different to what it does when running a working tap ?
