i need to add a second point in a house,

the existing one comes from the roof ariel into the living room

can i put a splitter in the living room and away to the new point (would this work ok or does it affect the signal if the 2 tv`s are on at the same time)

can i put a booster at the existing point and loop from there to the second point

thanks for the help

Does the cable come via the loft?  I would tend to place a distribution amplifier as close to the aerial as possible, with a cable from here to each TV.

Can you turn the current cable into the loft?  Or a cupboard?

Most distribution amps require a 230v supply.  There is a labgear one (and others) which take their power supply via the coax.  A PSU is placed beind one of the TV's in line with the coax.  If you want a link I will find one.  Screwfix stock it.

Ideally do what Lectrician suggested and put a distribution amplifier in the loft.  Close to the aerial is best because if you put it at the TV end any gain in the amplifier also boosts noise that gets into the cable.

You might get away with a passive splitter if the signal is good in your area. If it's marginal it might effect which channels you can recieve.
