No water when tap is on downsairs
Oct 22nd, 2010, 10:04am

Hi

Can anyone help.

We have a combi boiler but if we have the taps on upstairs we cant use the taps downstairs, if we flush the toilet but have the tap running the toilet doesnt refill. If we have the taps on the washing machine won't fill either.

Also we have really bad water pressure. The water will be hot then all of a sudden it will go freezing cold. Is this normal as we have never had a problem with any other house we have lived in.

Thanks

Perfectly normal.

With very low water pressure you shouldn't have a combi.

Do your neighbours also have a problem with poor mains pressure? If so consider asking the water company to check it. They are obliged to provide a certain minimium pressure at the main in the road. However be aware that the minimimium pressure they are required to provide is pretty low so they may not be able to help solve your problem. In which case there are other solutions that can help.
