Can you install a fan flue fire without the fan?
Nov 2nd, 2010, 10:14pm

Can you install a 'fan flue' gas fire in a normal chimney- i.e just disregard the fan flue?
The fire I have has an external fan to be fitted on an external wall but I have a normal chimney so can I just fit the fire into the hearth and chimney without the fan flue attached?

What he said. Could well be deadly...

(May need to cut and paste that link)

Anyway the fire would/should detect the missing fan as a fault and refuse to work for safety reasons.
