we have 3 Twyford Double Syphonic low level suites and 2 have given stirling service for some 25 years. The third has always been a problem really from the start insofar that after flushing water level goes right up to the rim and takes ages to drop even by a bit. So from the start only urine has been deposited. Recently after flushing waterlevel has risen even higher (and overflowed) and taken even longer to drop. So this WC is not used anymore.
       Recently some builders gave the outside drains a thorough rodding (I was by the pan and could here the rods reach virtually under the floor below the pan) whilst I used a long handled rubber plunger for ages. Result well yes I was able to get rid of most of the water in the pan BUT after flushing same old result.
       So I reckon the blockage must be between the WC bend (Ive put my arm down the pan as far as it will reach, nothing) and the soil pipe from where it emerges from the bungalow. Its possible that way back a tool or some "washings" where accidentally/deliberately put down the pan, BUT it has definitely got a lot worse recently to being unusable.
       So what to do. I've heard of 1. WC Augers and 2. "Cooper" long handled rubber WC Plungers. When Ive asked around in "high street" plumbing merchants for them no joy. In your view would these implements be likely to remove the blockage and do you know of an internet supplier who specialises in this type of gear?
       The other option I suppose would be to go down the hiring route using larger more specialised equipment-any suggestions please?
        Thing is I really want to avoid the expense and upheaval of removing the WC pan (embedded on cement so likely to break requiring replacement) and/or having to dig up the floor to get at the soil pipe.

They seemed to be all the rage in the 70's - There are loads in my village on the estate that was built in the 70's.

My mum and dad have one, and it is still going strong - I don't think it could compete with the vid though!  (don't have the guts to try!)

I actually thought they where meant to be super strong at flushing while using less water?
