Plastic pipe for CH and H and C water
Dec 2nd, 2010, 7:41am

I am looking to bury plastic pipes for the CH and hot and cold water supplies into solid brick walls.
Do I need to cover the pipes i.e. trucking, due to pipe expansion/contraction causing plaster to crack?
What sort or depth should I bury them?
Is there anything I should be aware of to do this successfully?

If you must, then the hot and cold must be assessable, e.g. pipe in pipe.

It sounds from yuor reply that burying the pipes is not good ides or practice? Would boxing them in be a better solution?

I'm not a lover of sticking pipes in walls, apart from the fact they weaken the structure, waste heat in the walls, they also have to be protected from corrosion, etc.

So yes, boxing them in is 100% better.
