1& half sink unit requires waste units
Feb 24th, 2011, 3:09pm

as title says i need to put a waste unit on the kitchen sink-the sink was acquired via bootsale as we was in need of one asap-all the bits were in the box and i fear not all thou! i have just added a 1.5in T in white as the grey one was leaking after a few months of constant tightening.

any ideas please? not really up to plumbing talk so if you can recommend
an item by name i can google it or a pic would be better!
thanks in advance ...

That grey plastic waste looks poor quality.

Where is/are the traps? Normally you have something like this on each waste before they are T'd together..

on the left hand 1.5in white pipe it leads to washing machine and this is
in place

regarding the waste on the 2 grey sinks-well they were just not included in the kit. hence my question-what do i need..as you see the left hand side is a lot higher so im not sure if it fit as flush as needed.
could i get away with just one waste on the left hand side(main sink) and leave the right hand side.

Many traps are adjustable for height so a pair of those would have may have solved the height difference. The only slight question is the height of the pipe along the wall. Perhaps too high for some traps?

Separate traps on both and it may be an optical illusion but it seems to fall left to right and reduce, thats a no no.
Fit the traps and then pipe to suit them and alter the waste to fall away and if anything go from small to big not the other way round. Smiley

wayne,
you say seems to fall from left to right-do u mean grey pipes on sink or the washing machine waste at the back? if this is the case yes washing machine waste is raised slightly with a block of wood so it flows better-but i guess it really isnt needed-that much water coming down will find its way....if u mean the grey yup the small sink is a lot higher on the thread and hence tilts down to the left...am off to toolstation to source some parts, hopefully will post pic when done and leak free!
cheers

The wastepipe at the back looks to be falling to the right towards the smaller pipe.
All pipes must fall towards the drain or soilstack or wherever they terminate. and should not go smaller on the way.
