ikea sink waste
Sep 29th, 2011, 2:07am

Herself has picked out a nice China sink for the kitchen from IKEA, which comes with their 'Atlant' waste, which is horrible.  I'd like to swap this for something not made from cheapy plastic, but I'm struggling to find one that will fit.  I need a slotted waste.  The hole in the sink is 85mm and the top of the waste (the part you see inside the sink) is 115mm diameter.

The nearest my local merchants stock is a bristan slotted belfast waste,  but it just drops straight thru the hole.  All I've managed to find on t'internet is American pages that say home depot stock a better one that fits.  Anyone got any suggestions?

Need to see a pic of what you have.

I would expect a standard strainer waist to fit.

I also would expect the standard strainer to fit.  Also, can you order the part they say will fit?  Sometimes they have pretty good return policies.  I used to order lots of stuff off the internet back when I was working with some Dallas Plumbers.  Good luck!

I believe maybe designed for a "basket strainer" type waste.

This type is for normal overflow but I thnk you need a slotted version?
