Oven Element Won't turn off (Read 3317 times)

cumbriahandyman GDPR opt-out	Oven Element Won't turn off Jun 7^th, 2012, 12:17pm Have replaced my oven element as old one gave up the ghost. When I turn it off at the control the fan goes off but not the element. It continues to glow red. Have had to turn it off at the wall. Any suggestions?

You would need to trace the wiring back through or meter the controls to find what is sticking on.

Switched on and everything seemed to be OK. About a minute later... Obviously a short behind the oven housing. Am wondering if I should just go for a new oven or take the back off and see if it is repairable.
