Toilet Seat
Jun 25th, 2013, 11:40am

Please can someone help me tighten my toilet seat? I've tightened ones before where the screws are underneath but this is concealed. There's 2 holes on the inner of the seat but can't find anything to tighten them (could it be an allen key?)

I'm confused, is there something that pops off to get to the screws?

Here's 2 pics

Is there a little grub screw in the end that allows you to lift it off the post.

Otherwise it looks like a bottom connection, I.E. a wing nut under the rim

Right, i've managed to tighten the base of the seat by lifting the 2 chrome tops to reveal a screw. However, the top of the seat still moves from side to side. If you look in the first pic there's 2 circular things on each side and the seat moves about along these. They don't budge and i can't get them into the actual hinge of the seat, which i'm guessing is where they're meant to be.

The plate part swivels to fit different pans, perhaps some movement when the screw is loose.

It's not the chrome plate that's the problem. It's the plastic washer type thing that slides into the actual seat itself.........it's sticking out of the seat which is making it move from side to side...........how do i get it flush?

The plastic part will push in, the post is concentric on the base so it turns to adjust.

The problem is every seat is different to the last so one can only guess to an extent.
